US Sales Tax
Due to a sales tax law that applies to marketplaces, Artfinder is obligated to calculate, apply and collect tax at the point of sale for orders being shipped to locations in the USA, and remit this to the relevant authorities in the USA.
When customers from the USA shop on Artfinder, this therefore means that the price they see on the listing may not be the final price they pay, as sales tax will be calculated and added at checkout. Depending on the customer’s State, there may also be a tax added for the shipping price.
It is important to note that sales tax is different to customs duties/import tax and those would still be applicable as usual for US customers when they purchase internationally.
Sales tax does not have any impact on how much you will be paid and/or how Artfinder commission is calculated as Artfinder’s commission is always calculated on the listing price. Additionally, the sales tax is remitted by Artfinder to the relevant authorities in full, and Artfinder does not keep any part of this.
