Seller Plan Fees

To sell Artworks through the Platform, a Seller must have a Seller Plan Subscription.

A Seller Plan Subscription chosen by the Seller will determine the Seller Plan Fees payable monthly in advance to Artfinder, the level of Commission that Artfinder is entitled to charge the Seller for each Artwork sold, and which Platform features are available to the Seller.

The Seller Plan Subscriptions and corresponding Seller Plan Fees / Commission percentages available are:

Sellers must choose a Seller Plan Subscription level at the time of registration with the Platform. Each month is a non-refundable advance purchase of that level of Seller Plan Subscription for the applicable month and it will automatically renew every month. Sellers can change their Seller Plan Subscription by updating their settings at any time.

Plan upgrades and downgrades

In case of a Seller Plan Subscription upgrade the new level will apply immediately, with any pro-rated fee difference between the old and the new plans charged immediately.

In case of a Seller Plan Subscription downgrade the new level will apply from the next renewal date.

Commission

For all Artworks sold through the Platform, each Seller must pay to Artfinder commission (plus any applicable VAT in the UK or European Union) based on the % applicable to their Seller Plan Subscription. Commission is calculated on the final Price at which the Artwork is sold under the relevant Contract in accordance with the Seller Terms and Conditions ( Commission).

Commission is applied to the final price of the Artworks sold only, and not to your applied Delivery Charges.

For Artworks discounted by you through the Artfinder ‘Sale’ and ‘Make an Offer’ functionalities or made by us as authorised by you under Clause 3.2 of the Seller Terms and Conditions, the Commission will be calculated according to the reduced Price at which the Customer purchases the Artwork under the Contract. From 15th January 2016 this will also apply to all Artworks that are discounted through the use of an ‘Artist-Generated Discount Code’.

Unless offered pursuant to your authority under Clause 3.2 of the Seller Terms and Conditions or otherwise expressly agreed by you, any Platform-wide discounts and promotions offered to Customers on the Platform will be absorbed in full by Artfinder.

Value Added Tax - Applicable to Sellers based in the UK and EU only

We are obliged to charge 20% VAT on our Seller Plan Fees and Commission to all sellers based in the UK and the European Union.

For Sellers based in the EU (but not in the UK) that are VAT registered and have provided us with a valid VAT (or equivalent) registration number VAT will not be charged as is subject to reverse charge procedure. Please note Artfinder may require sufficient evidence of the registration that is acceptable to HM Revenue & Customs and as required under EU law and regulation.

Changes to VAT from 1st January 2021

From 1st January 2021, following the end of the "Brexit transition" period, Sellers based in the European Union will no longer be charged the UK VAT on Artfinder services, such as the commission or subscription fees. VAT will continue to be charged to UK sellers as before and there will be no changes in the VAT treatment to non-EU sellers.

Invoicing and Statements

Artfinder will raise an invoice at the beginning of each month in respect of the Seller Plan Fee and charge it to the payment method stored in the Artist’s account.

Artfinder will raise an invoice for each payment run in respect of the Commission. This will be accessible to download from the ‘Billing’ section of your Seller Account. You will receive notice of this by email, along with a scheduled date for payment in accordance with the payment provisions in the Seller Terms and Conditions.
